Help answer this question below.

Last night the pitcher's right foot was behind the rubber and he looked over to first to check the runner. He then looked home as if to get a sign from the catcher, and then placed his right foot in front of the rubber to begin his stretch. Legal?

    Rule 8.01 Legal pitching delivery. There are two legal pitching positions, the Windup Position and the Set Position, and either position may be used at any time.
    Pitchers shall take signs from the catcher WHILE IN CONTACT WITH THE PITCHERS PLATE.
