It depends how much I won.
I once won £10 on the lottery, and my first purchase was a bar of chocolate.
I guess if I won £10 again, I might buy a new book. But then if I wanted a book, I'd get it regardless of winning £10...

If I won several million pounds, then I'd probably buy a house first. Once I had my new house I could start putting other things in place.

Did you hear about the guy who hit it big with the lottery? He came home and told his wife to start packing. She said "I'm so excited... should I pack summer clothes or winter clothes?" He said "I don't care. I just want you out of here by the end of the day!"

If I won millions, I would buy a lot of lots on small lakes where there was'nt any public access and put in public boat ramps. That way everyone could enjoy the lakes.

I'd buy a nice old stone building (preferably one that was already kitte dout with a bar) in the seaside town of Whitby, North Yorkshire (yep that's the one where Dracula came ashore in the guise of a dog)and convert it into a really beautiful pub with velvet curtains and beautiful artwork on the walls and have a fabulous old fashioned jukebox and live music nights and a fine selection of single malt whisky's and real ales, maybe open a kitchen and serve home-cooked food too, and employ a selection of strangely beautiful bar staff with unusual fashion sense to run the place three days a week so I could take time off to write.
I would also buy a Harley Davidson motorbike and go on a selection of interesting holidays, probably a lot of new clothes, books and records, a house and a car for my sister and a better computer.

It wouldn't be a purchase, I'd pay off my debt (not much, so i still have spending money) then I'd buy a new phone, cause I'm obsessed. It'd be the t629 and the t619. i'd want them both. and then I'd get rid of my peice of shit car, and buy a new one! It would be a cute car. I dont know much about cars, so i'd ask for help from my girl friend, cause she knows all. and then i'd take her on a trip to an amazing place. :) the rest I'd save.

I would donate 50,000,000 to Cancer research.

The rest, I would divide up between my family members. We already have a beautiful home and the means to travel, vacation and provide our children with top quality education and extra curricular activities. That much money would be better off given to people who truly need it.

if it were a big lot, it would not be so much of a purchase, as a set-up. I would set up a foundation to make sure that the orphanages I support have permanent income, and that other children in need can have their needs met. A mico loan bank might be a good investment too.

My first purchase would be a gun so that if someone tried to rob me, they would die. Then I would probably get a big ass house, some cars, a sweet comp, and then own a hed shop.

Then, I'm comin' back here to go to college and see what they know. And then I'm gonna build things. I'm gonna build airfields, I'm gonna build skyscrapers a hundred stories high, I'm gonna build bridges a mile long..."

... only a moron tries to spend a million ... invest it wisely, then consider spending 'some' of the investment's returns without ever having less than a million from then on ...

... with a 36% per year return, I would buy tax liens within the county of Chicago ... try to find a savings account that pays 36% ... I can live easily on less than $360,000.00 per year and just keep buying a million worth of tax liens every year ...

First I would spend $50,000,000+ accepting the "cash value" of the "$100,000,000" lotto. Next I would spend $25,000,000+- in taxes. Having spent 75 million of it on the first day I would have to slow down a bit. Next I would move the remaining assets outside of American jurisdiction to reduce risk of unfair seizure. Invested at 7% rate of return I could spend 1MM per year without eating into principal or about $2700 per day. I would just add this amount to the current ventures I am working on.
