  • Too scary!
  • I just read "Pet Sematary" and I simply don't think children's books are Steven King's niche for some reason...
  • There would be lots of sleepless children and parents would be pulling out their hair !!! :)
  • As talented as the man is, if he tried he could probably spin gold.
  • Sounds interesting, messed up kids though. Really I'm sure he'd be good at it.
  • Many of his books concern children. I don't know if I want him writing stories specifically FOR children, although I did read horror books when I was a kid--but I was a little strange...........
  • LOL The Brothers Grimm on steroids?
  • LOL, he actually did the Green Mile, Stand By Me, The Shawshank Redemption and that one with.....shoot, I forget the name. He's done great books other than horror
  • a lot of people would love it. it would guarantee endless work for all the up and coming child psychologist/ psychiatrists. not to mention the suppliers of mood altering medication for disturbed young people. I am a huge horror movie fan and have watched every thing from friday the 13th to gigi and the only thing that has ever given me nightmares was a couple of stephen king based ones. "IT" and "cat's eye" that man should not be allowed to write books for teens, let alone children, he'll drive them insane or scare them to death!
  • The kids would turn out psychotic serial killers by the time they're 18 or else have ended up in a mental institution!
  • He is a very talented writer and I am sure he could write a scary book for kids that was appropriate for them. He raised three kids of his own and I would imagine he spun stories for them...and as far as I know, they turned out okay. Not all his books are supernatural horrors which make you want to check under your bed before you get into it. One in particular comes to mind which contains nothing at all supernatural, yet is somehow disturbing (to me anyway, but I tend to get caught up in the stories if they are well written)...The Long Walk..written as Richard Bachman. There is one though, which I would not want my kids to read until they were older...Gramma..which is a short story. Man! That one really creeped me out...and I read it as an adult.
