Not if they have a degree in psychology.

If that's what they say, that's what they get, whether or not they mean it or not. You go by the official command.
-
I take them at their word without attempting anticipatory telepathy on that matter. ;) Have you been to a party where they didn't mean it?
-
pssh..no. i dont think that ever existed haha :D
-
yes i do. i don't ask for gifts because chances are i'm usually too broke to buy gifts for 8 different people in a month. all of us have gotten in a habit though of no gifts, but we all go out to dinner, and the bday person doesn't have to chip in for the food. that's usually how it works. or everybody gets together and pitches in 10 - 20 bucks and gets one really nice gift for that person.
-
I would say...probably...Yes. Who wants to get stuck with multiple sets of corningware anyway? That stuff is heavy and takes up lots of room. :D
-
Does anyone ever **really** mean "No Gifts"..... c'mon!!! lol!
-
I assume they do mean it. If I put that on an invitation, I would mean it. But I may just be a weirdo. :)
-
Yes, I do. I'd assume she/he has valid reasons, so I would honor the invitation.
-
they mean that everyone they invite is invited, even if they can't afford to bring anything. i think they mean it these are good people.

Leave it to a woman to ask a question like this. Careful what you ask or say...people may actually think you mean it. Geez. I mean, come on...what action can you defend your actions with more? Believing someone and taking them at their word, thereby showing you trust them?.........or saying "Oh...I can read minds and you didn't mean what you said so I'm going to do the complete opposite of what you said and asked for because I know you don't mean what you say."? What planet are you from? Oh, wait...must be Venus. Nevermind.

If it's a guy, yes. If it's a woman, hell no! I have yet to meet a woman who means it when she says not to get her anything. Yeah right!
