Start with two oblong ovals, one smaller than the other. The smaller should be on top. Make two short, close set lines off the top of the top oval. Darken these lines and the inside of the ovals so that it is nearly black (assuming you are using pencil). Make two long legs pointing upward on either side of the spider body, attached right above the place where the two ovals join. Make these legs have a sharp bend in them so that the top portion of the legs point straight up. Do the same below the oval's join, but this time, with the legs being longer and pointing straight down. You can add eyes if you want, but I usually don't.
