Absolutely. probably not as bad as my parents were, where they'd open EACH candy bar and examine for needle pricks and such. haha, but I'm sure parents still sift through for anything harmful. Why wouldn't you? You're letting your children have candy from complete strangers! I got a can of SOUP once haha.

I do, My daughter is 15 and We still look at every thing. It is better to be save than sorry. I have never found anything but I feel the one time I do not check will be the time I should have.

My parents always checked my candy. I wasn't allowed to touch one piece till they looked it over really good. I think its a good idea.. you never know what nut is giving your child candy.. its a wise idea.

Sure, I always did, still tell them to check and not eat the open stuff. Even the mfg can have bad candy that gets sifted in.
