  • Good luck on that one! They do background checks on everyone, everywhere these days.
  • No job that is worth anything doesn't do a check. They don't want to put their company at risk. If you don't want to worry about failing a background check, do not do something stupid to fail a background check.
  • Most companies that hire mostly illegals. They might still ask on the application about your background, but most likely won't do the background check. You can also see about getting your record sealed or expunged. Some companies are also only concerned with the past 7 years, 5 years, 1 year, etc. Also, small businesses - mom and pop shops might be a good place to go. God's blessed me with a few jobs since I've been out (2003), but I'm having a tough time at the moment finding a job. Like the other commments say, every company pretty much does one nowadays. It's a bit discouraging. There's not much room for error, forgiveness, and mercy. Especially if you can tell by someone's efforts, performance, etc. since they messed up (their crime). If you don't mind outdoor labor you might try some temp labor/day labor companies. I was able to get on with a company (Labor Ready). They only asked about any activity within the last year. Around here it's tough though - extreme heat - and I've been in an office environment for the past 10 or so years. Anyways, hope this helps, although I know it's still discouraging. I just got done with an interview today and once my past comes up I pretty much know which direction the interview's going. Then again though, maybe it'll work out? Cheers.
  • That was a pretty harsh and ignorant comment (previous comment) but the first comment is true. Try Costco's. They do a seven year. good luck.
  • Retail stores and small offices such as doctors or dental offices dont perform background checks. I believe that big retail stores do like Costco, Sam's club and maybe Homedepot. You can try Victoria's secret, Bath and body works, trying working thru a temp agency they really dont check. Good luck
