All the important people are still here ;)

I think any web site that has visible, public status symbols associated with user accounts is fundamentally flawed. I wouldn't feel any better if I had the most points, I'm here to crack jokes and waste time.

Some reasons: People have stuff going on in the real world and don't have the time for AB that they once had. Internet availability: One ABer, Kitten, AB'd from work, but her employer stopped that. I gather she didn't have Internet access at home Sick of seeing arguments/fighting/drama on AB Users get Penalty-boxed for lengthy periods of time (20+ years) which amounts to being banned. Burn-out. ABing hour after hour, day after day, week after week, takes its toll. AB has a revolving door. People leave, they return. It's always been like that.
-
Because I don't think I'm popular on here and my questions get ignored.
-
Perhaps some people leave because they no longer feel welcome here. I saw retroglide have a serious debate here but I didn't read the entire interaction so I can't say whether that was a factor in her apparent departure. I asked a question about whether anyone knew why she hasn't been here in about 2 months but nobody answered.

Ever since they stopped taking attendance, it's hard to tell who's here and who's not here. Maybe they just want to make more room available for the onslaught of new users. Just remember that people may leave but their profiles stay here forever.

Vacations doing other things working more family needs they go they come back some stay but slow down for awhile. Just life.

Officially leaving or just dropping off the face of the Earth? Some ABers have been ill and are not around lately because they are too ill or recuperating (Rock Shiner and Shopping Sheryl come to mind) Summer vacations and having the kids out of school (in some parts of the U.S. anyway) tends to keep people too busy to be around much or at all. Some may be in the Penalty Box temporarily or banned completely. There is no way of knowing this since the Staff and CLs do not discuss this. Some burnt out and are probably just taking a break. I highly recommend that everyone do it from time to time even if it's just for a few days. The nastiness and drama have certainly done their part to drive people off--see the discussion going on here http://www.answerbag.com/q_view/777874. Jodie is right, people come and go all the time around here. It's just the way AB is. A few reasons anyway. . .I'm sure there are many more.
-
I don't think there are "so many people leaving Answerbag." What I'm seeing is turnover that is so common in all other websites.
-
Probably the same reasons they have always been: http://www.answerbag.com/q_view/94316 http://www.answerbag.com/q_view/95334

They found a real life in the real world..hmmm..think i need one of those
-
Because there are a lot of us Nit-wits here that don't have a life. They are leaving to enrich themselves, I guess.
