Well, lets see, there are blind cave fish... and night hunting creatures like bats that have developed sonar... So, if the species we have access to for comparisons sake are any indication, the rule is, if you don't use it, you lose it... It seems if we were exposed only to darkness, we would lose use of our eyes and they would atrophy, while other senses would increase in sensitivity...

that depends on your belief in darkness, knowing that certain rays or energy wave frequencies can penetrate through anything, they may be considered "light", and we are momentarily limited of vision.

Sure, it's possible. But I can't think of any pressure that might drive us that way now.
