  • give everyone guns!
  • In open space knife crime is difficult to gauge except that the police road blocks and walking constables are mobilized and frequency increased in soft target spots and dangerous areas. In the malls or supermarts may install metal detectors and security cameras.
  • give everybody a gun then they wont need knive= no knife crime
  • I read the UK does have a serious problem. Since guns are outlawed the knife is the weapon of choice. You outlawed guns, I guess it didn't work. Now outlaw knives, they will find something else. You have to outlaw crime. By finding the cause of crime and fixing it. Crime is the product of the youth being turned into criminals because of social issues like poverty, parental abuse and just not enough social programs and education.
  • Conscription and then start a traditional infantry trench war.
  • Stop talking about it so much. The massive coverage of knives in the media is making carrying a knife "the thing" if you want to look tough - which a significant minority of young men want to do. Statistically, knife crime is not increasing: about 250-300 incedents (not necessarily leading to death) per year for the past 10 years. But media coverage has exploded. The same thing happened in Bridgend about youth suicides: massive media coverage exacerbated the problem they were wailing about.
  • Introduce more severe punishments for offenders, and make people aware of it. Poor parenting is the main reason for most crime, so something should be done about them. Perhaps a massive kick up the arse.
