One of my fellow grad students had an unknown guy come up to her in the coffee shop and ask just that. When she told us about it at first we were "shocked" but then we analysed it and concluded:- If he never asked anyone he would never "get lucky". If he asked every time he saw someone the chances are he would get lucky at least once, and maybe more. Isn't this how evolution works ?
