There's no way to answer a question that asks if its the best game, because there is no way to compare certain games. You can't compare Tetris with Call of Duty 4, or Madden 08 with Oblivion. It all depends on your preferences, and what you expect going into the game. Personally, Call of Duty 4 is my favorite game of all time, and I"ve been playing games going way back to Atari. Anyone remember "Combat?"

i think halo 3 is the best muti player on online. better than cod4. also depends if you like scifi or realstic games. halo 3 has, many types of games, and on the weekends, is double xp. not only are there awesome games on halo, theres really fun maps, also on halo 3 you can create your own maps, with or without your friends. i have made a few maps myself, if you ever get into halo 3 online. my gamertag is xxYO DAWGxx.

COD4 is the greatest shooter because it's soo real, I like the fact that when I shoot someone they die, and the graphics are amazing. but "gamerdude is goofy" is correct it's not the best if you want to link up with your friends to play.

Definitely. The games counter effects of which it combines the thrill with fun is outstanding. It's also amazing that the 'Call Of Duty' games which aren't nearly as good as this one is still played at this very moment, for example the first 'Call Of Duty'. I'll be honest that the Story Mode is not that great but by adding on the Multiplayer score gives it, in my opinion without over-rating the game, a whopping 10/10. I honestly love it. If you look at 'Grand Theft Auto: IV' which is EXTREMELY over-rated, you can tell just by the amount of people online how let down everyone is. But ofcourse you cannot tell if people enjoy playing Single Player. Call Of Duty 4 - Best Game Ever? YES

I would say out of all the games ive played (mostly war shooters) Cod4 is the best, ive been playing it since the release more than a year ago. my previous favorite was cod2 games like halo 3 dont even touth it.

To be honest, I've only played the single player part of COD4. I have Modern Warfare. I have not had a chance to play online multiplayer. Frankly, I don't really know how to go about it. I think that it's a great game. I'd say it's the best war shooter I've ever played. Even not having played multiplayer, it's the best. If anyone would like to show me the ropes, I'd be grateful.
