  • G'day ejohanson. Thank you for your question. It's a matter of choice. My personal view is if you like the name, you choose it in it's traditional form. Otherwise, your child will have people mispell his or her name for the rest of their lives. Regards
  • I don't have any children yet, but when I do I plan on spelling their names uniquely also. I love when you see an ordinary name spelled in an extraordinary way! =]
  • I spelled Jackie "Jaqueey" I have never seen that. He goes by Jack though.
  • Jeez, you INTENTIONALLY wanted your child to have to spell his name every single time he gives it? Talk about punishment! To me, a child's personality is unique. No point in saddling them in addition with an unspellable or unpronounceable name that they will grow to loathe.
  • I did my daughter's name is Lainey but I spell it Lainee people don't get why. Her name is Elaine so I just took the first E and placed it at the end.
  • No, they have "Normal" spelled names. Psst, A "Y", is a vowel, when used like that.
  • No, never. My child will stand out based on his personality and what he gives to the world, not a grammatically incorrect name no one can pronounce on the first try.
  • I don't have kids, but having gone through school with a 'Kandi Barr', a 'Justin Thyme', 'Amanda Lin', and numerous other 'cutsie' names and spellings, I would NEVER do that to a kid. If they choose to spell it differently, let it be a nickname. But as someone who has had to spell my name, pronounce my name, re-spell my name, and STILL have people get it wrong, all my life, I say anyone that does that, is more concerned with what THEY want, than what their child will have to deal with. Pretty selfish, IMO.
