  • because they are not usually saved in their original format and are compressed to save space and make downloads faster, XVID, DIVX etc. are video compression formats whereas on the original DVD the video is not compressed as most home DVD player do not have powerful enough CPUs or the nessesary software to decode compressed formats.
  • Cause they're really bad quality. Better DVD rips should be around 700Mb.
  • Bad quality and because most movies are around the same length.
