Are the majority of policemen in America really fat or is that just a stereotype?

I think you left out lasy and stupid. Oh yeah also easily led to believe they are doing the right thing. I liked it much better when they were refered to as "peace officers" insted of "police officers". There job used to be to "keep the peace" not go around looking for citizens who are allegedly breaking the law.

Most policemen are not fat or obese. That is one of the requirements to become an officer, they must be able to pass state-issued physical training tests. I come from a long line of cops and none of them are fat. lol The stereotype here in the US is that they like donuts & coffee.... and I DO seem to see a squad car at a lot of the local dunkin donuts shops around here ;)

The ones who are increase the overall average to make your statement not far from the truth.

All the ones I know are not overweight by more than 5-10 pounds and I wouldn't call that fat at all.
