Certainly. One should always try to get along with their relatives. Of course, you cannot date a relative. There are strong societal taboos against such things.

Off course you can! I am engaged to my cousin. It may be a social taboo, but why should that stand in your way at all? According to the book with the highest moral code namely the Bible it is appropriate to marry your cousin. According to the law (I am from South Africa, laws from different countries may vary)it is acceptable. Scientifically there is nothing wrong with it as long as you don't make a habit of it (everybody in the family keep dating cousins). So don't beat yourself up about it. When I started liking my cousin romantically, I did my research and it came out positive. Good luck and enjoy!
