  • You could try spanking his butt and grounding him from anything fun for a month (including his IPOD and PSP)... Or you could try the easy way out and simply talk about why this is not good behaviour and what he should do to change it before he becomes a career criminal.
  • make him drink a bottle of laxative
  • Ground him, & take away everything of his except a bed & clothes.
  • Make him do manual labor like mow all the neighbor's lawns.
  • I guess it would depend on the age of your son. I do think taking him back to the scene of the crime was definately warranted and might be just enough punishment. It probably is punishment enough for your son to tell whoever was in charge of the store, what he had done. If your son is older, a trip to the police station and a chat with an officer might be just the cure!
  • If he is age appropriate, make him start a business. Help him to start a lemonade stand or car wash or the such. Help him get started, then have him take the incoming money to buy products from the money for supplies for the next business day. Make him appreciate the value of money, then he can understand that work has value.
  • You good ask the store owner if there is a quick chore to be done that can be performed by a kid. Humiliation is punishment enough and it works.
