Usually, you shouldn't touch them, it really depends on the mood of your Mommy bunny. Sometimes they will kill them for no reason, let alone have an outside scent on them. If you do take them out because you have to I wouldn't put them back in. I would keep bottle feeding them until they are weaned, or find one of those handy serogate kitties.lol;-}good luck

What breed of rabbit are they? 9 is a lot of some breeds. And it sounds like some might be runts, not peanuts, but just smaller ones. They won't get rejected if they smell different, but it wold be better if you fed them kitten replacer rather than goat milk and only feed them twice a day. Be sure you keep them warm. Nothing is worse for young kits than chilling and they chill very easily. Here's a page that really goes into great detail on how to feed kits: http://www.rabbit.org/faq/sections/orphan.html

Hi Galeanda, I have been trying to comment on your answer but for some reason it isn't posting so here is your comment. My doe is a French Lop and the buck is a Holland/French Lop cross. They only mated 1 time. I was shocked at nine kits also. Can she make enough milk to feed all nine? They were all the same size at birth and now the three on the bottom of the nest aren't getting fed and are very skinny but still hanging on because I have been hand nursing them on the doe. Will twice a day be enough to suppliment them if they don't get any milk from the doe at all? I was considering seperating the nests into another nest box in her hutch but will the doe feed both sets of kits seperatly? I have fluffed up the nest to give the little ones a chance at reaching the milk, but I am worried. I appreciate any help? Thank you.
