What would be a good way of teaching children in junior school their times tables? I think flashcards and wallcharts would be an idea.

How about this for an idea? Get a roll (or two) of pennies (I'm just trying to think of something cheap but you can use anything) and talk about multiplication. Teach them what it means to multiply by 2 (or doubling). Then talk about multiplying by 3, 4, 5, ect. It could help it sink in better because they're seeing it happen.

Junior high, really? We were taught our times tables in grade 3. I think the way our teacher taught it was really like a time table and simple memorization. When I think of '7x8, 6x4, 9x8' etc, the automatic answers are still from memorizing them in gr 3 lol.
