    I think we break #1 alot when we try to defend what we think. We create other "gods" in our mind to defend our points of view, whether the God of the Bible supports it or not. I can think of numerous conversations I've had where people try to use God to support their opinions, never realizing they are really just using a god they have created and not the God of Jacob.
