  • I highly reccomend joining this group. They will need a lot more info from you, but they'll lead you the right way. It's all free and they are a great bunch. I've been a member for five years and they have helped out with quite a few jams. http://groups.msn.com/computerhelpclub This problem needs too many questions answered to be dealt with effectively in a Q&A forum. There are too many factors to be considered. It is better handled in a discussion forum. That's exactly what Computer Help club is. There are a lot of experts there that will know exactly how to zero in on what the problem is. There are nutballs there that think they know more than they do, but the genuine guys stomp out the misinformation very quickly.
  • This is hard to diagnose without more info... for example, what kind of computer is it? How old is it? What operating system do you have? I often find that people with complaints like this are using a version of Windows that is completely cluttered with software installed (often maliciously) by websites. Sometimes you get a prompt and click okay -- but more often than not, the software is just installed, and starts up everytime you start your computer. If that's the case, you need to run a program like "Spybot - Search and Destroy" -- (http://www.safer-networking.org/) -- which removes these programs. There are many other possibilities though, so if it's not the "spybots" -- you best go to a site like cmerch suggests in another answer.
  • You may have too little RAM. Too little hard drive space left (for virtual memory). You may have a slow computer. There may be too many programs running in the background (that start when Windows starts). You may have issues with your Internet Security software. You may have spyware.... a virus.... a trojan..... a worm. Your browser may be hijacked. All of the above. As was said by the others, we need specifics. Lots of them. Don't be insulted. If you called your doctor and said over the phone, "I feel sluggish. What's the problem", you'd get a vague response too.
  • ok first of all, you need to do some basic computer maintenance: run disk cleanup and disk defragmentor download ccleaner - run that and clean the registry start-run-prefetch- delete everything in their and empty the recyling bin start-run-msconfig-startup, untick the program you dont want starting up when your pc loads. uninstall unnecessary programs if your pc is still slow, that means u have very little ram.
  • you may have low ram plz defragment your drive then when you on ur computer, click F8 many times then select safe mode start then completely scan all your drives with ur anti virus then empty recycle bin install ccleaner from http://www.ccleaner.com/ and clean registry
