No, they are not that compatible in that way... i learned this in biology last semester i just cant remember the exact term for the reason. They cant do it just like humans can not mate with dogs..they can TRY but there wont be any luck. lol

not unless the ferrett eats the cat first. but its ur call.

G'day Anonymous, Thank you for your question. It is impossible for them to procreate and unlikely that they would mate. You might see a lot of fur flying and scratching and biting. Regards

No. I don't know about mating (my cats and ferrets played together, but both were neutered), but they cannot procreate. In order for two animals to procreate, they must be closely related (in terms of biological taxonomy...typically the same genus or species). Ferrets and cats aren't even in the same Family. Taxonomy of the Domesticated Cat: Kingdom: Animalia Phylum: Chordata Class: Mammalia Order: Carnivora Family: Felidae Genus: Felis Species: catus Taxonomy of the Domesticated Ferret: Kindgom: Animalia Phylum: Chordata Class: Mammalia Order: Carnivora Family: Mustelidae Genus: Mustela Species: putorius Subspecies: furo

Cool thanks for that people. I had some one tell me that they had what they called a Carrett. Ferret and cat had mated and had off spring. They even when in to detail on what they looked like and how they acted. So was very interested to find out if it was possible. Obviously they must have had a bad dream.
