Learn more about homosexuality, overcome prejudices and misconceptions associated with it, show your friend you truly care for him by accepting that fact and supporting him. That's what best friends do.

I can't say for sure but I think he'll understand. Most guys that are conflicted with such things for so long become really understanding when it comes to dealing with suppressed emotions. You can tell him safely I'm sure, but tell him you don't expect anything from it and that you just want to be honest with him.

i had the exact same issue, i am actualy living my my gay best friend. you sould tell him. if you two realy are best friends he will understand and your friendship will be stronger for it. if you dont you will become bitter and frustrated and it will cause problems in the friendship.
