If he had robbed an adult clerk in a convenience store, the punishment would have been similar. Sounds about right since he attacked a prepubescent female child. The age and gender of the victim makes up the difference.

boy, he's gonna have a tough time in jail: "yo, why you in here?" "I robbed a Girl Scout." how long do you wanna bet he'll last . . .

I would have to know more about his background, and age (14, or 17?). If this was a first offense, and a snatch and run, too harsh. But if he was a known trouble maker, and performed a strong-arm robbery, not too harsh.

Some of these girl-scout cookie salesmen are raking in about $800 a day! they know the risks!

Unless there have been further developments I'm not aware of, I believe that's a "she" (I asked a similar question today.) : ) http://www.answerbag.com/q_view/772670 I believe it fits the crime because she showed no remorse at the time. She'll probably get out sooner than that.

Hmmm...maybe too lenient. He should do jail time...and time in a Girl Scout uniform selling cookies in front of his school or in front of the big grocery store in town like they do here.
