We're not. That is a societal norm in most Western countries. We as a race are actually more predisposed to love and cooperation.

We need to realise that we were born sinful. So we can identify sin as being things that are not good, and being selfish can be classed as that. However, we have the power of choice, so if peepz choose to be selfish thats the working of Satan but if they choose to be unselfish then they are good. It is becoz of Sin/Satan that is why "some" people have a selfish nature about them. hope this makes sense

I do not think we are. Humans as a whole have been willing to sacrafice something of themselves for the benefit of others throughout all of recorded history. I think human selfishness is the exception, not the rule.
