5 yrs ago, my new husband and I discovered a very valuable vintage baseball card collection that belonged to my previous husband. My new husband stole some of the cards. Can a report of theft be filed this late? We are now divorced, of course.

How do you know that husband no.2, stole the baseball cards? did you have knowledge or participate in the theft? this is a civil matter, not criminal. It appears now, that you are interested in monetary recovery. Contact an attorney, not the police.

his mother and he were in a family dispute, and she expressed to me that he had her keeping some valuable baseball cards for him. This is how it was discovered. Over the past 5 yrs, I have requested that they be returned, and have only gotten rationalization and excuses. It is not at all monetary gain that I am looking for. It is the principle, and I would like to be able to return them to their owner. I have not been able to tell my first husband about it, because of the shame in my unfortunate choice in being involved with a sociopath. I am guessing he is better off not knowing they were found, until they are recovered.
