  • How does one explain not knowing after the first two arrests for driving on a suspended license.
  • Well, my license was suspended and I didn't know. It was my first time EVER and I went off to jail for a couple hours. It was a lady officer and plenty of her co-workers thought she was being a bit harsh, but it depends on the officer. It's up to them whether you'll go to jail or not.
  • 3rd time???? lol. Come on...of course they should get taken in. They obviously aren't fit to pay attention to anything...I know I wouldn't want them piloting a 5,000lb projectile at 70MPH 30 feet behind me on the expressway. Perhaps you think them killing some family in an accident would be more fair?
  • It is very common. In Illinois a 3rd offense typically brings a minimum of 30 days jail. In Florida a 3rd offense may be a felony with up to 5 years in prison. For more suspended license information see the following links: http://peacesecurity.suite101.com/article.cfm/driving_suspended_in_illinois and http://peacesecurity.suite101.com/article.cfm/driving_suspended_in_florida and http://www.shestokas.com/Suspended_License.html
  • Very. Third time? You would think that at that point they would make the connection between not paying a fine and having their license suspended. All of that information is listed on the District Court of Maryland and MVA websites. A suspended license for failure to pay a fine is fairly standard practice. Did the person just think that a ticket would "go away"? As a repeat offender, I'm not buying the "I didn't know defense". I'm sure a judge won't either.
