  • dont they say the average brain is about 8lbs?
  • Everyone's body is different. I can eat 2,000 calories a day and be thin as a rail...(wish that was true...unfortunately, I smell a cheeseburger and gain a pound).
  • You may lose some weight for a little while, but because the calories are so low, your metabolism will slow down ALOT. Then, you'll stop losing weight and you may even gain... Or, you just don't lose any at all and you'll feel horrible. You shouldn't eat any less that 1,200. But I sometimes only get about 1,000. I'm not recommending it, because it isn't healthy. Just saying.
  • You won't lose very much. You will need to do some form of exercise too. Yes eating does speed the metabolism up, but the weight loss will be minimal. Even if you don't manage your calories and exercise regularly you WILL lose weight and that's guaranteed! There's low impact exercising like walking. Two thirty minute walks a day, will get the weight off!
  • Um...a dangerous amount of weight! You are supposed to have at least 2000 calories a day. Why don't you just excersize?! Everyone always thinks that crash diets are the answer! It is the answer if you want to end up in the hospital!! Listen, if you excersize an 1 1/2 for the next 2 weeks, the weight will be peeeeeeeling off and you and you will be set for bathing suit season. But, if you don't have the time, just work out for like half an hour and eat healthy things. Have some gatorade, salads, fruits, yogurts!! Seriously, please don't only eat 600-800 calories because it's a disorder and you may think you're in control but you might not be!!
  • Nothing. You'll gain all your weight back after your "diet" is finished.
  • I did it for about a month and a half and lost about 15lbs. But I was also lifting weights several times a day and running 2 miles daily. I find that your 'weight number' (mine is 155) means practically nothing. Muscle weighs more than fat so if you're building muscle and losing fat you may not drop your 'weight number' at all and may even increase it. I'm 5'10" and naturally athletic, also. Some people would probably react differently.
  • Please eat at least 800 calories. Even if you had closer to 1000 on a healthy diet with exercise, I promise you that you will lose weight.
  • Amen to I wanna kno ur name. My mother-in-law—a rather large woman—put herself on a 500-calorie-a-day diet and lost roughly 100 lbs in a year—which sounds great, except that by the time she went back to eating normally, her metabolism had dropped so severely that the weight came back even more quickly that she’d lost it, and now she’s bigger than ever. Likewise, my father-in-law went on the Atkins diet and lost almost as much, but once off Atkins, gained back almost exactly what he’d lost.   My wife has inherited her parents’ obesity, but when she decided to get healthier, she did it the right way: eating a decent amount, but making intelligent choices as to *what* to eat. She also uses walk/run DVDs three days a week and does aquærobics twice a week. With all that, she’s been able to maintain a completely normal lifestyle—eating what she wants, when she wants, even splurging from time to time. The only real change is what she *wants* to eat, which has changed so completely that it’s become a part of the new her. The bottom line says it all: my wife has lost 70 pounds in almost two years and plans to lose 47 more by the end of next year. A decent rate, a decent method; I have no doubt that she’s happy, nor that she’ll continue to be successful (unlike her unfortunate parents, whose “quick fixes” made for very short-lived success).
  • it really depends on what you are doing, if you are doing next to nothing don't expect to loose any weight, but if you eat the same amount and add in a routine of cardio you will start to loose weight and is a healthier way to do it in stead of starving your self.
  • Dont drop below 1000 calories. 1000 calories is what it takes to support a human being who is 100lbs and sedentary.
  • i have been eating 700 calroies a day for the past 7 months and lost a LOT of weight. i have since increased it to 1200 to maintain my weight. i say eat 700 cals untill your at your goal then increase your intake slowly to maintain your weight. it worked for me :)
