Wild grape is fast and hardy. Hops dies back to the ground but it will cover 30 ft of fence in a summer. Plus you get those wonderfully smelling seed pods that you can flavor homemade beer with. Virginia creeper is an old standard. Honeysuckle, trumpet vine are also good.

Morning Glory: If you start with seeds, plant them all along the entire length of the fence, and they will grow over it in about six weeks. You could purchase plants anywhere from three feet tall to six feet tall, already planted and growing. Just stick them in the ground and tie them up the fence. It takes about 1/2 day.

I dont know much about vines but I heard Kudzu (spelling?) almost never stops growing, but you'll have to give it regular trims. Try asking Home Depot.

Clematis always works. We had a small place in upstate NY and I used it on every fence. Very pretty little flowers on some, medium flowers on others.
