Rather than have them just sit there in their cell, what would be a good use or punishment, for a horrible, cold-hearted, child or serial killer? (use them for organ donations?)

It doesn't matter. We have law and order for a reason. And it works both ways - for the citizen and for the criminal as well. This isn't the roman empire, you can't toss people like animals into a stadium and make them fight to the death, or do humiliating things because it's funny. The people who did those things at Abu-Ghraib prison are sadistic bastards, and they broke laws and rules - people like that should be looked down upon, not elevated as role models.

Organ donations would be an excellent idea! Sweet! I think anyone in prison should work. Something for the benefit of the society in which they lived. I would allow no TV except news. I would have a single cell for each prisoner to cut down on rapeage. Or at least more guards. The raping is appalling.
