  • HI jed I wouldnt recomend it ,olso be carefull NOT to get Hydraulic fluid on your skin its realy NASTY stuff mate.
  • You "can", and it will work for a while, though not as designed. But the seals and hoses are designed for a particular composition of fluid and you will damage your system, probably irreparably. If you mean "in my car's braking system", I have a belief that Darwin should be allowed to run its course.
  • The reason I asked is bacause I have an old Hymac excavator in the yard that leaks hydraulic oil badly, it is not economic to repair but would be useful if I did not have keep pouring expensive hydraulic oil into it, I have a quantity of burning oil rescued from a large tank that needs to be used (possibly as fuel for the machine?)
