When you watch TV in the evenings, do you like to sit in the dark, switch a lamp on or burn candles?

During the earlier part of the evening I switch on a lamp because I can't stand watching tv in the dark. But when it gets later..say 11 or 12, I turn the lamps off and watch it in the dark. Weird.

A soft light - I don't like the high contrast of bright TV in the dark. Hurts my eyes and gives me a headache. If it's dark, I will actually lower the contrast and brightness on the TV. Candles? Only if I am watching something "special"....

I definitely have a light on cuz I am always doing something while watching tv.

The dark is too Vampire-ish Candles can be a little too Seance-y I like a little bit of corner lamp action.

Hi, m'dearie dear..Happy Sunday! We always have one lamp turned on..was told years ago that watching TV in a darkened room is not good for the eyes..maybe that is another untruth..but we sometimes read while watching TV, especially during commercials..then we have two lamps turned on! :) ((hugs))

We like to turn on a corner lamp, dimmed down about halfway, and then light the candles around the apartment. It just makes the place seem nice and cozy :)

I like soft lamps, and keep candles for when I'm listening to music.

The darker the better...brings out the colors on the plasma better. That bad for your eyes thing is an old wives' tale.

Lamps with dim bulbs, but if with someone special candles or the dark! ;)

I prefer the dark, but my husband has every light blazing.
