What's wrong with being a single woman?? Nothing. As for polygamy, it all depends on the person. Whatever works for you (but no not because 'there are too many unmarried females in this world today' how sexist and ancient)

Single women who have an education and a career are very well-thought-of. As one such woman, I am proud that I have not made rash decisions about marriage, as it has let me launch my career, purchase a home and then begin a great relationship in comfort and secure in my own independence.

It is a very meaningful question. Women are created or evolved in a way to adjust with polygamous set up. But men are opposite. Therefore if the male/female ratio gets affected for any reason, polygamy is right. I think the natural ratio is 102 women to 92 men. So I believe smart men can take more than one and women should be nice enough to accept it and be friendly and sisterly with co wives. But a man should be nice enough to tell the number 1 that he is looking for number 2 and tell the number 1 that he is already married and she must co exist with his number 1.
