What can I do if the agent/brokerage will not let me out my listing agreement?

    Might depend on your reason for wanting to break the contract. Did they fail to live up to their promises? If so, you should just point this out and site that as a reason to cancel. If it is just so that you can sell to a private party without paying a fee for the services they provided then you should live up to your end of the contract and allow them to do their work.
