Besides unique spelling, or obvious references-can you tell an american question, or a question from europe?

No. I can usually only tell the difference due to spelling or subject.

Yes, most people who can speak english as a second language show some signs of it. The same way I would be if I attempted to write in German for example. The sentences just don't flow perfectly, or they use a word that doesn't quite fit in the context. This isn't universal obviously, but it does seem to be true on a general scale.

Sometimes I can tell by there spelling of words, example: Center - American, Centre - European. But they also have a lot of different words than we do. http://www.geocities.com/Athens/Atlantis/2284/
