  • My husband has quite the way with animals and he once talked (using honking and a hand/arm gesturing) to a wild gander and got him to approach quietly and he even preened the Canada goose as if he was another goose. It was awesome! From a wild 'I'm going to kill you' to, 'hey you're not so bad'. And he also has gotten wild turkeys to come to him to eat bread out of his hand, but it would only work near our barn. Anyplace else and they thought he was threatening. But they were just like big chickens in and around the barn, and just for him only.
  • That sodding squirrel is just giving 'cupboard love'. They're devious little tree rats. I remember one looking at me with huge dark eyes while I was eating a sandwich. When he saw I wasn't going to give him a bit he vanished. Next thing I know the little b*gger has climbed a tree, dropped from a branch into my lap and wheeched away with my lunch!
