  • At this time (20080528), I know for a fact that Skype IS encrypted and yahoo is NOT. I suspect AIM and MSN are but am too lazy to check. There is very little likelyhood that the video stream would be intercepted anywhere other than your local networks, so if you're both behind a router as opposed to sharing a college network connection, there won't be any snoopers. Furthermore, if you use one of the encrypted clients, even if somebody can intercept the video stream, they'd have to crack the encryption which is prohibitively expensive (both money and timewise) so unless you're sharing state secrets and have the NSA breathing down your neck, I highly doubt you have anything to worry about.
  • For that to happen the "snooper" would have to be connected to one of the two or more systems that are connected together for the webcam/s. The only other way is tapping into the camera itself like say a blue tooth or Ethernet type connection. Besides unless you work for the NSA I doubt any "hacker" would bother to snoop in on your webcam chats. In all its safe unless you have some enemies that are able to "hack"
  • Hehe, what do you plan to be doing that needs to be only seen by you two? ;)
