  • No, not whole eye transplants. Only components of the eye like the cornea, which is the outer layer, can be successfully transplanted with modern technology.

  • Total eye transplants are not possible with current technology. Unlike most internal organs, the optic nerve is far more complex, making it impossible to directly interface the transplanted eye with the brain. For much the same reason, limb transplants or "Six Million Dollar Man" type bionics/cybornetics are not possible with current technology, though there is promising research into the field. Give it about 15-25 years or so.
