  • So my idea is born because I am from Texas, love my home state very much, but I am in Illinois, and probably going to be here quite a while, so the next best thing for me, kind of a consolation prize, would be to have a tattoo of Texas..... I'm not sure if I want the outline of the state, the state flag, something to do with the "Lone Star" theme, and I also want the symbol of my Christianity on there as well.... Anywho.... It'll be on my right forearm.... not sure if I want it on top, or on bottom, or maybe both, but am not sure what exactly to get. I need some ideas. Anyone here have any good ideas? Thanks for your help.
  • talk to a tattoo artist or use a friend whos a really good artist and brain storm together.
  • If you don't want the state outline as the actual tattoo .. maybe switch it around and have a star with the state in it? As to which side of the arm .. well .. whenever you choose what to get .. have the artist make two copies and have it transferred to both sides and pick which looks best after the tat is designed :)
  • You might want to look for old images and art from the Texas revolution or early Texas history, see if there's any paintings or drawings that inspire you. Where in Texas are you from? Maybe you could do something more personal than the lone star. I love Texas tattoos, but I see a fair amount of state outlines and flags. Maybe something from your hometown? (Suggesting this because I'm contemplating the same thing.) P.S. Come home. It's cold in Illinois.
  • you need to be careful not to try to put too many ideas together in one tattoo.it can start to look messy and cluffered.if you have that many ideas and are detirmined to use them all consider splitting them up and getting two smaller tatts.you day your faith would come first if you had to choose so go for a religious tatt first, then think about your texas one later.whatever you do,don't rush into anything.hope that helps.
