You need to purchase a "black box" to hook up between the DVD burner and the player (DVD or VCR). These units are usually advertised as "video clarifiers". If I remember correctly, there is a company out there called redbox that sells this item. I (hypothetically) purchased one of these boxes, and it works fine. I was really ticked off that they expected me to go out and pay $19.99 all over again for a movie I already paid $19.99 for just because technology advanced!

We owned over $1,000 worth of videotapes of movies for the kids. We bought a new minivan that had a DVD player installed instead of a VCR like the previous one. If the industry lawyers want to come after me for this, I'll be happy to be a test case.

You should be o.k. with the copyrights as long as you don't sell them.

You are asking for people to help you commit an illegal act. Any one answering you would be guilty of assisting you with a crime.
