  • This probably depends on where you live. Statistics from 1998 for Canada (http://www.statcan.ca/Daily/English/010125/d010125a.htm) says children between the ages of 2 and 17 watch 15.5 hours per week on average. These statistics (http://members.iquest.net/~macihms/HomeEd/tvfacts.html) about the USA say that the average American youth watches 1500 hours of television per year -- almost 2x as much as a Canadian youth.
  • I think it's not as much as it use to be. I think they split it now watching tv, playing console on tv, or going on the internet. No wonder the world is getting fatter!
  • It depends on what kind of kid it is. I used to spend my whole day watching TV. Then I got into pot and I spend very little time indoors. Usually I am outside making snowmen or searching for a job. I built a fort with some friends and have made some cool trails through the woods. But if you have a kid who doesn't enjoy sports or hobbies but maybe loves to read they might spend most of the day reading instead of watching TV. Or say you have a kid really into dance maybe they only watch 3 hours of TV a week because the rest is spent in dance class. Who knows I know people in both the scenarios above.
