  • Hypothesis: The original swastika meant peace and unity (Its a hindu symbol) and I think that is what Hitler ultimately wanted. He wanted unity of the people and peace through it. Albeit, he went to the "dark side", and killed lots of people.
  • Actually, the original Aryans decend from Northern India and migrated across the land mass into Europe. Hitler probably thought he was a "pure race", but did not realize the significance of his own origins. Hence the anthropological term "Indo-European".
  • He got it from Madame Blavatsky, of the Theosophists. As an occult symbol, it was supposed to draw power to wherever a lot of them were assembled. Look also at the salute. The masses are sending occult power; he's receiving it, with his palm upraised over his shoulder (hand next to his ear). I think they also used the double eagle, symbolizing the East and West halves of the Roman Empire.
  • Probably the same reason the buddist did, and maybe the same reason the Apache Indians did. And the Hindus did, You can see it as the crooked cross of the New Order of the tetonic knights, The symbol of the german tetonic knights was originally the iron cross.
  • Although the Swastika has had a long & varied history, i believe Hitler chose the symbol because it represented life, power, strength & luck...but through the dark years of Nazi rule the symbol had taken on a new meaning of death, violence & hate.
