always ask for someone to pass something rather than reaching over to grab it. Next, try not to talk with your mouth open and don't put your elbows on the table. Use your salad fork only for your salad too.

"Follow the host/ess" is the golden rule. Do whatever the host/ess does. Should they eat their salad with a knife and fork, you are allowed to do so. If they strangely decide to take a sip from their finger bowl, you are allowed to do so; this is not recommended, but it is allowed since the host did it. :o)

Seat female companions first, wait until everyone has been served before starting to eat, don't ask for the salt and pepper without trying the food first (gives the impression that you thing the hostesses cooking is not up to par),ask for condiments if needed. When pouring wine, offer it to the diner on your right before yourself.
