  • By two brothers. Names of Romulus and Rhemus. They were raised by a she wolf and when they became adults the started a settlement that eventually became Rome. That's what I remember from my ancient Ancient History class.
  • It was founded? when was it losted?
  • Indeed, the by a she-wolf raised twins, Romulus and Remus, founded the city of Rome. After a short time, Romulus saw twelve birds fly in the sky, and Remus saw six of them. Romulus thought it was a sign that he had to become Rome's rulers. After a fight, Romulus killed his own brother Remus. He became the first King of Rome. Later he dissappeared (it is said he went to heaven, to the gods). Then the Etruscans came, and conquered Rome. From then on, Rome was ruled by Etruscan Kings. Cruel men they were. After a while the Roman people revolted, and took back the Roman city, and promised to themselves to NEVER EVER have kings rule again. The Republic was founded, and soon they conquered Etruria (land of the Etruscans). And soon even the whole of Italy. And that, my friend, was the foundation and the beginning of Rome.
  • Ancient Rome was founded by Nimrod read this book "The Two Babylons" by Rev Alexander Hislop. This book detail the orgin of Rome and the origin of the Catholic Church. It also details the orgins of most of the popular holidays celebrated today. Romulus and Rhemus was said to be raised by and suckled she wolf TOTAL FAIRYTALE. WOLVES WERE EATING UNATTENDED HUMAN BABIES DURING THIS TIME IN HISTORY. READ RELIABLE SOURCES FOR YOURSELF DON'T TAKE ANYONES WORD FOR IT.
  • Even tho' the Visigoths kept an eye on the place, when they got back from vacation in the south of France the Romans founded it a real mess! ;-)
  • Like any powerful nation is founded; conquer everyone and get them to assimilate, or die. Romulus and Rhemus is pretty but it's myth, the truth probably is a lot more bloody and depressing. :/
  • A mother wolf brought her two sons to a place of rivers and hills. Remus said "dis my place" Romulus said "da heck with that!" and killed Remus. Thus began Rome. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Romulus
