  • I think I went to summer camp about about four times -- some of those were church-related camp, and the other was something that I "won" through our local electric cooperative. I don't remember much about it except swimming, softball, hanging with the girls from my cabin, and church service at the church camp. But, one of my best friends is a friend I met at camp. We've known each other since we were 14 & 15 -- so that's been, ummmmm, a lot of years!
  • I've gone to at least one summer camp a year for the majority of my life. When I was tiny, I went to a day farm camp. One time, they decided to have a sleep-over in the loft in the barn. I was homesick and started crying at like, three or five in the morning. A couple counselors heard me and they took me out to feed the animals! I felt so special because none of the other kids got that special time! And for a while, I went to a camp on Kelly's Island, Ohio for years on end. That was fun. Summer crushes that weren't ever fulfilled, shaving cream fights, throwing skivvies on the roofs of the cabins... Good times. In 2006, I went on a rafting trip as a camp program. We were given a recipe and supplies to cook our own dinners and we had to set up our own tents. We didn't get to shower for four days straight because we were in the river constantly except at night and lunch - until the fifth day when we got back to the main campus. The first day on the river, I put sunscreen everywhere - except the top of my thighs! Since you straddle the side of the raft, they were burnt to a crisp! Also that week, I almost drowned... long story - I'm a good swimmer, but I got caught under the raft! All the girls in my cabin hated me for no reason, so I chilled with all the guys. It was a blast. =] [sorry if that was a bit long. =] ]
  • For several years I spent a week each summer at scout camp. My best memory was boating (canoes, rowboats, and sailboats).
