The board i ride is a 138 cm hyperlite murray 07 and i want to get the hyperlite b-side 09 but they dont have 138 they have 136 and 141 should i go with the longer one or the shorter one

When I'm outside the wake picking up speed as i head towards the wake I lose rope tension then i have to compensate by facing my board verticaly towards the boat then go fast and lose my cohesion.What am I doing wrong?
