  • Many states now offer limited medical health plans for low income people and the uninsured. Check with your social service agency to find out. Private health insurance plans are really not worth your money. Private insurance agencies will accept you when you are young and healthy. They will dump you when you are old and sick. All they care about is making money. Use whatever money that you have to stay healthy.
  • There are so many kinds of insurance plans, it is impossible to tell which one will work for you. If you are employed, ask your employer which plan you can use. Many will accept new employees, with a rider that excludes pre-existing conditions. That means they will pay for new illness, but not for ones you already have. If you are not employed, contact your welfare department.
