  • They are a way forward, and I imagine that, as the technology matures, that it will find its way into more applications, because it makes sense to recapture as much energy as possible from burned fuel.

  • I don't know. The ones we have today here in the US are not very fuel efficient. They make straight up gas vehicles that are more fuel efficient as they don't need two drive trains. Perhaps they will come up with better technology in the future, but there is no way that I would buy a current generation hybrid.

  • Not really. Man made global warming is bullshit. The only thing we need to worry about is expensive gas. Hybrids might cut your gas bill for a while. However as we start being more efficient, the oil companies will just steadily raise the price. It's not going to save us any money. Oil is just expensive because of inflation. The way forward is to reform the banking system and stop the oil companies artificially raising the price.
