Trick name on the bill-not unusual, You're not "Uniting American Families" if only one member of the family is an American. You're creating an American family. That's a falacy in the "reunite families" immigration argument.

Not sure, maybe try to write to and/or call the Congress? The 'Uniting American Families Act' would allow same-sex couples to be united legally through the U.S. immigration process -- The bill would correct the bias in the INA by adding the term 'permanent partner' to the law’s definition of family members; therefore, same-sex partners of U.S. citizens and lawful permanent residents would be eligible for Green cards and immigrant visas available to spouses and other family members -- A meaningful step toward providing equality to same-sex couples and keeping their families together. http://org2.democracyinaction.org/o/5036/t/1978/campaign.jsp?campaign_KEY=215 http://org2.democracyinaction.org/o/5036/t/1978/petition.jsp?petition_KEY=42 http://www.immigrationequality.org/template2.php?pageid=1080

as with all measures like this unless 68 senators are gay friendly it will be filibustered. it kind of seems like your putting the cart before the horse though. shouldn't DOMA be repealed first?
