Help answer this question below.

My co-worker is attending a wedding with a former girlfriend in Florida this weekend. Is it so important for a female to have a male escort at a wedding?

    No, not at all. As a matter of fact, I believe if you go by traditonal etiquette, if you are a single, invited to the reception and your invite doesn't say "& guest" it is not acceptable to bring an escort/date. However, it obviously depends upon the formality of the ceremony/occasion, but it's always best to check with bride/bridegroom before bringing and "univited/uncounted" guest with you.
